Supported Activities
- National
Nanotechnology Coordination Office (NNCO) -- The
NNCO provides technical and administrative support to the Nanoscale
Science, Engineering, and Technology (NSET) Subcommittee of the
National Science and Technology Council (NSTC). In addition, the NNCO
is chartered to serve as the point of contact on Federal nanotechnology
activities, conduct public outreach, and promote transfer of the
results of Federal nanotechnology R&D for commercial use and
public benefit. WTEC provides professional staff support for the NNCO
office.
- WTEC, on behalf of the NNCO, is interested in contracting with an organization to provide data and analysis on U.S.-based companies (or foreign companies with significant U.S. operations) offering nanotechnology-based products and services on a commercial basis. Please see the Request for Proposals for more details.
- Metabolic Engineering Working Group (MEWG) -- The MEWG is comprised of representatives from eight federal agencies who work together to stimulate increased awareness and attention to metabolic engineering, and facilitate assistance to those investigating application of metabolic engineering principles in a wide range of areas.
- Multi-Agency Tissue Engineering Science (MATES) -- The MATES Working Group is a means for the various federal agencies involved in Tissue Engineering to coordinate their efforts and stay informed about their activities.
- ScienceUS -- ScienceUS is a branch of WTEC. It helps to inform the public about the importance of American leadership in science and engineering and drafts strategic plans for achieving and maintaining this leadership.
