DATA RELAY SATELLITE

NASDA is planning a number of technology experiments as part of the ETS-VI and the COMETS project for data relay satellite applications. These experiments consist of the following:

• Ka-band (23/26 GHz) and S-band (2.3/2.0 GHz) ISLs on the ETS-VI for communications between GEO and LEO satellites.
• Combined S- and Ka-band ISLs on COMETS where signals received at S-band from one satellite will be relayed to other satellites at Ka-band.
