The APNF forms a strong regional coordination in science and technology development, facilitating rapid information flow. It offers a unique platform for networking across the Asia Pacific region between governments, developing industry, and the venture capital market. The APNF facilitates the coordination of programs and cross regional collaborations among Government policy makers, industry strategic management, R&D institutions, and leading researchers. With support from Governments and major industry the APNF was formed as the Asia Pacific catalyst and thought leader in Nanotechnology and related technology development areas.
The Forum offers three main platforms to communicate, exchange, and
network between members; government policy leaders, industry leaders, and
top tier investors. Each platform is represented by a small panel of elite
experts and thought leaders. The Asia Pacific Nanotechnology Forum hosts
the annual Forum conference and a number of country local symposia and
workshops. The Forum holds quarterly Nanotech Briefings, each time in a
different city in Asia Pacific. The Nanotech Briefings are gatherings for
Forum members to keep up the information flow and provide ongoing matchmaking
opportunities as well as general updates on latest developments in Nanotechnology.
The quarterly Newsletter keeps members of the Forum informed about new
developments and opportunities in Nanotechnology.
Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology
"The Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is an inter- and multidisciplinary research institute devoted to basic research in the physical sciences and engineering, and in the life and behavioral sciences. Its primary mission is to foster interdisciplinary work of the highest quality in an environment that transcends many of the limitations inherent in traditional university organizations and structures."
CC-Nanochem, Nanotechnology Competence Center
"Activities of the competence center aim at establishing new markets for nanotechnologies. The impact of the traditionally strong German R&D in chemistry will be extended in this area and thereby bridge gaps between chemistry, physics, microelectronics, biology, and medicine. For this aim, a variety of concepts will be elaborated which are based on
The Center for NanoSpace Technologies
"The Center for NanoSpace Technologies is a Texas based nonprofit research foundation chartered to conceive, establish and conduct cutting-edge technology research and development. These technologies are then infused into the Aerospace, Bio-Medical, Education, Petro-Chemical and Shipping/Transportation industries."
Energenius Centre for Advanced
Nanotechnology
"Canada's first centre for nanotechnology, founded in 1997. The centre is comprised of 14 research groups from a wide variety of disciplines including mathematics, physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, and materials engineering. The centre was recently awarded a grant for $45M to enhance its infrastructure. The centre is performing research in nanoelectronics, nanophotonics and nanosystems. Members of the centre are key players in national efforts in nanotechnology, including a founder of a national network of Canadian researchers in photonics, with special emphasis on photonic nanostructures."

"Foresight Institute's goal is to guide emerging technologies to improve the human condition. Foresight focuses its efforts upon nanotechnology, the coming ability to build materials and products with atomic precision, and upon systems that will enhance knowledge exchange and critical discussion, thus improving public and private policy decisions."
The Institute of Nanotechnology
"The Institute of Nanotechnology (IoN) was established to provide a focus for the burgeoning interest in nanotechnology, encourage new research and keep the public aware of developments in this exciting field. The Institute is presently active in the following spheres:providing information to the public, alerting industry to new developments, encouraging information exchange between scientists, identifying and coordinating new research projects, promoting education and training. The Institute is a membership organisation and membership is open to all."

Michigan Molecular Institute (MMI)
"MMI is an independent, not-for-profit research and educational organization, conducting both basic and applied research in polymer science and technology. The MMI building contains 35,000 square feet of laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment well suited for both chemical and physical research, a library which boasts one of the most extensive polymer collections in the world, and administration and support facilities. We have core competencies in Dendrimers, Silicon Dendrimers, Coatings, Plastics Technology and Analytical Sciences."
Minatec Innovation
Center : Centre for Innovation in Micro and Nanotechnology. France
- Grenoble (CEA Leti, INPG)
The Minatec Innovation Centre started life in Grenoble. It is one of the few sites in the world to possess sufficient scientific, technological, and industrial resources to achieve this objective. The centre will take form by developing cooperation networks and strategic alliences with complementary centres of excellence in France and elsewhere in the world.
